A man accused of holding up a bank in Manchester at gunpoint remains in the Kennebec County Jail after making his first court appearance today. 36-year-old Jonathan Linton of Augusta is charged with robbery, theft and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.Police say he went into the Gardiner Savings Bank Monday afternoon with a hand gun, demanding money. He then took off. A bank customer, who used to work for the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, followed Linton and called police.Deputies arrested him three miles from the bank. Linton has reportedly admitted to the crime.His bail was set today at $250,000 cash. He’s also being held on a probation violation for a previous arson conviction and no bail is allowed in that case.
