Updated 4 years ago

A three vehicle accident sent one man to the hospital and backed up traffic during the morning commute on the northbound side of I-95 in Carmel. It happened as traffic was approaching a construction site.According to State Police two vehicles stopped but a third couldn’t brake in time, causing a chain-reaction crash. One person was brought to the hospital with minor injuries and two of the vehicles sustained substantial damage.Troopers are urging drivers to take caution when driving through construction zones.” When you’re approaching a construction zone a lot of times what we see is traffic will end up stopping short or stopping quickly or abruptly. You need to anticipate that and give yourself extra distance from the vehicle in front of you to allow yourself time to come to a smooth, safe stop,” said Trooper Michael Johnston with the Maine State Police. The crash is under investigation.
