Hundreds Bike for Bangor Land Trust 

More than 100 folks jumped on their bikes to raise money for the Bangor Land Trust on Sunday.The 4th annual Pedal the Penobscot kicked off at the Bangor waterfront.Some participants biked 76 miles for the event.Pedal the Penobscot is the largest fundraiser for the Bangor Land Trust, the money raised will go towards conserving land and keeping trails safe and usable.This year the event saw its highest registration ever.Organizers say they’re thrilled with the turn out and say it’s a fun event for all involved.” When people get to go out and do something like this together in a group to support the environment it’s a feel good response all around. It just is very exciting to see it happening,” said Lucy Quimby, president of Bangor Land Trust.For $25 folks could enter a raffle, the prizes included an Old Town Canoe and a custom made biking jersey.
