AP) – Maine conservation officials say thisfall’s foliage season appears to be shaping up as a typical one. But even last week, the Forest Service was reporting that someyellow and paper birches have been stressed by the hot summerweather and leaves were beginning to fall off. Leaf peeping season is arriving fast. Weekly Maine foliagereports will be available each Wednesday starting this week andcontinuing through Oct. 13. Maine foliage spokeswoman Gale Ross says the reports will beavailable online and through a Facebook fan page. Ross says Maine was on track to see peak conditions in the norththe last two weeks of September, with the rest of the state peakingfrom north to south the first weeks of October.
