Second Arrest Made in Connection with Amity Triple Homicide 

A second arrest has been made in connection with a triple homicide in the town of Amity.State police say 63-year-old Robert Strout of Orient was arrested today after he was indicted by the Aroostook County Grand Jury on hindering apprehension and arson.The arrest comes two months after 20-year-old Thayne Ormsby was arrested and charged with the stabbing deaths of 55-year-old Jeffrey Ryan, Ryan’s 10-year-old son Jesse and Ryan’s friend, 30-year-old Jason Dehahn.Ormsby had been staying with Strout and his family for a few weeks before the stabbings happened.When interviewed by police, Strout told them that Ormsby had threatened to kill his family if he didn’t help the 20-year-old cover up evidence of the stabbings.Strout then said that Ormsby had stolen Jeffrey Ryan’s truck and he followed Ormsby to the town of Weston, where Ormsby set the truck on fire. He then drove Ormsby to a bog where Ormsby threw a knife into the water.Three days later, Strout drove Ormsby to New Hampshire to stay with his son, Robert Strout The Second.Strout faces up to 40 years in jail and a 70-thousand dollar fine on the hindering apprehension and arson charges, both are felony offenses.He is currently being held at the Aroostook County Jail on 20-thousand dollars bail.
