Skowhegan Field Hockey Off to A Great Start in 2010

The Skowhegan field hockey team has been on an incredible run over the last decade. It’s a standard that can’t be matched by many teams in any sport in the history of the state.They have 8 state titles and those that know field hockey are surprised when they don’t win a game. Tim Throckmorton has more.***”A lot is expected of us and we want to achieve that goal.”The goal is state titles. And after winning 8 in a row, they lost 2-1 in the state game last year. Corrine Anderson – Skowhegan Field Hockey”Losing motivated us to work harder get in better shape did so much over the winter we didn’t like the feeling.”To get another state title, they’ll have to do it with youth. They’re loaded with sophomores. Anderson is one of the two seniors that play. The other is Noelle Hancock.Noelle Hancock – Skowhegan Field Hockey”You can’t judge us for being so young we are talented lost 8 seniors but we have to deal with what we have. This team is amazing we adapt and we’re just family.”***Today, Skowhegan grabbed their second win in as many days. The Indians beat Lawrence two to one. Skowhegan plays Messalonskee at Colby College on Thursday.
