Labor Day Traffic Down from Last Year 

Maine Turnpike officials say the threat of Hurricane Earl led to a drop-off in turnpike traffic over the Labor Day holiday weekend.On Friday, the number of vehicles heading into Maine was down almost 19% at the York tool plaza from the same day last year.And on Monday, traffic heading out of state was down almost 5% from Labor Day of 2009.Overall, turnpike traffic has been up this summer.
