Bangor Holds Meeting Regarding Medical Marijuana Dispensary

The planning board in Bangor held a meeting Tuesday night to let Bangor residents know what areas in the city would be recommended for a medical marijuana dispensary and growing facility. The public hearing was held Tuesday night and according to Bangor planning officer David Gould no one from the public showed up. The recommendations will now be sent to the full city council for a vote. Gould says the council will have to fix a minor glitch in the language.Board members say say they used the same model that was used when they were deciding on where to put a methadone clinic in Bangor. Last November voters statewide approved a move to expand Maine’s medical marijuana law and clear the way for dispensaries where patients can legally get marijuana prescriptions filled.
