Bangor to Reveal Recommendations on Placement of Medical Marijuana Facilities 

The planning board in Bangor is ready to reveal its recommendations on where the city should let a medical marijuana dispensary and growing facility be located.A public hearing is scheduled for 7 tonight at City Hall.Board members say say they used the same model that was used when they were deciding on where to put a methadone clinic in Bangor.Last November voters statewide approved a move to expand Maine’s medical marijuana law and clear the way for dispensaries where patients can legally get marijuana prescriptions filled.A dispensary or cultivation facility can’t be within a thousand feet of a school, library, park, or playground.And it can’t be within 200 of a church or a residential area.the planning board will submit its recommendations to the full city council for a final vote.
