Maine Sees it First Educare Center 

Maine’s first Educare center is open.The facility will serve about 200 children, up to age five, and their families, who are Head Start-eligible.It will also train groups of college students working on their degrees in early childhood from Kennebec Valley Community College, the University of Maine at Farmington and other schools. The building officially opens to “all” students Tuesday.It’s an $11,000,000 project that was built next to the George Mitchell school in Waterville.There are a dozen Educare centers across the U.S. This is the first in Maine.
