Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office Seize Pot Plants 

Police say there could be a bumper crop of marijuana this season, despite the dry weather.Officers from the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Drug Task Force have already seized several thousand dollars worth of marijuana plants in Central Maine. According to police the marijuana harvesting season typically occurs in late August through September.Curtis Simmons of Belgrade has been charged with cultivation of marijuana. Jason Poulliot of Albion has also been arrested on the same charges. Sheriff Randall Liberty expects to carry out several more searches during the next few days.Police are finding that plants cultivated outdoors are doing much better than in the past two years.
