Maine has received 19 applications fromnonprofit groups hoping to operate a medical mairjuana dispensaryin either York County or Down East. Maine’s new medical marijuana law allows one dispensary in eachof the state’s eight public health districts. Last month, threecompanies were chosen to operate six of them.Among the applicants are Lucas Sirois, a Farmington contractor who does business as Today’s Herbal Care, and Freese Fuller of Hallowell. Sirois submitted two applications – one for a dispensary inSullivan and another in Biddeford. He previously applied to opendispensaries in western Maine, central Maine and York County. Fuller, whose group is called The Healing Center, proposes toopen a clinic in Ellsworth.
