AG Warns of Credit Card Scheme 

Maine Attorney General Janet Mills is warning of a new credit card scam that’s targeting some residents. Southern Maine’s PeoplesChoice Credit Union reports thatscammers have been claiming to be from “PeoplesChoice Saving” andoffering a credit card with a $2,000 line of credit. The callers ask for payments of $200 and the victims’ bankaccount information so they can immediately withdraw the money. PeoplesChoice Credit Union says there have been 25 calls overthe past three weeks from people who have been contacted by thescammers. PeoplesChoice Credit Union says it has nothing to do withthe bogus offer. Mills says advance fee credit card scams are fraudulent and preyon people who desperately need a line of credit.
