California Need Extra Innings to Beat Ohio

In the opening game today, there were two teams trying to make the semifinals. The team from California had yet to lose a game. Today, their opponent would need to beat the US West champs and also win it by 10 runs in order to sneak in on the runs allowed tie break. The Ohio team trailing until the 4th inning when they even things up. Richie Mast gets Luke Burch home. But not enough runs were scored for Ohio and once it went to extra innings, the playoffs weren’t a possibility any more. It went nine innings before the West won it 6-3. California will play Bangor tomorrow at 2:30. Aruba will play New Jersey in the other semifinal. That game at 11:30.
