FairPoint Communications Looking to Replace CEO 

FairPoint Communications has asked CEO David Hauser (HOO’-zer) to resign and wants to replace him with someone from outside the company. In a motion filed in bankruptcy court in New York City, thecompany is seeking approval of the appointment of Paul H. Sunu toserve as the new chief executive. Sunu is favored by a steering committee of secured lenders. Hehas served since 2008 as chief financial officer of HargrayCommunications Group, which provides voice, high-speed data andvideo services. Before that, he was CFO of Hawaiian Telecom and ofMadison River Communications. FairPoint paid $2.3 billion purchase for Verizon’s landline andInternet operations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in 2008. Itfiled for bankruptcy protection 18 months later. (AP)
