Three Injured in ATV Accident 

Three people were hurt, two with life-threatening injuries, when their all-terrain vehicle went airborned and into some hemlock trees Saturday evening.According to the Maine Warden Service, 20-year-old Tasha Barnes of Baileyville, an 9-year-old girl from Danforth, and a 13-year-old girl from Princeton, were injured in the crash.It happened at 5:45 Saturday evening.Barnes and the 8-year-old were ejected from the vehicle. The 13-year-old was wearing a seat belt and remained in the ATV. None was wearing a helmet.Barnes suffered broken ribs, internal injuries and internal bleeding. She is listed in fair condition at EMMC.The 8-year-old suffered a skull fracture and head swelling as well as a broken right arm and a broken collarbone. She is listed in critical condition.The 13-year-old was treated and released at Houlton Regional Hospital.The incident is under investigation.
