Florida Woman Claims Self Defense in Murder of Dedham Man

A woman from Florida charged with killing a man from Dedham claims she did it to protect herself.Police say in March of last year, 45-year-old Tamra Leasure shot 53-year-old Arthur Tilley, Junior, three times during an argument in her home in Riverview.Tilley had been staying with Leasure for several days.Leasure told authorities after the shooting, she put the gun in Tilley’s hand to make it look like a suicide.Leasure is charged with second-degree murder. She went before a judge in Florida two weeks ago, asking him to throw out the case because she says she was acting in self-defense. The judge has not issued a ruling yet.Leasure scheduled to go on trial in October. Tilley was a well-known member of the Bangor Kiwanis Club. His father is a former Bangor city councilor.
