Chasse Trial 

The trial continued Wednesday for a Maine State Prison inmate accused of taking two people hostage at the prison in June of 2008.Michael Chasse pleaded not guilty, in 2008, to eleven charges.He is representing himself in this jury trial.He faces eleven charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and terrorizing.Prosecutors say Chasse took a prison worker and an inmate hostage during a seven hour standoff in 2008. No one was seriously injured.Wedneday, a correctional case worker for the prison took the stand.Chasse asked the man to confirm all the dates he was held in the high security wing of the prison.The case worker could not remember specific dates, but did say Chasse has spent a great deal of his incarceration in that section of the prison.The trial began Monday. Earlier this week, the prison worker allegedly kidnapped by Chasse did take the stand. The trial is expected to continue into next week.
