Bangor Student Receives Tim Horton’s Scholarship 

A student from Bangor has $1,000 more to help pay for her education – thanks to scholarship from Tim Horton’s restaurant.Beth Churchill was among the 220 students in the United States and Canada to receive the honor.She’s the only student from the state of Maine.Churchill will enter her second year at the New England School of Communication this fall, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations.”This semester, I will be debt free because of it and because of my job here that I will be working here over summer,” she said.To receive the award, Churchill had to submit a 500 word essay about her experience working at Tim Hortons.In her essay, she recalled a time when she helped a deaf customer by communicating with her using sign language.
