Augusta Planning Board Medical Marijuana Hearing 

The Augusta City Planning Board heard from the public Tuesday night about a zoning change that could allow for a medical marijuana dispensary to open in the city.City leaders are considering expanding Augusta’s medical district along Old Belgrade Road.In that proposed zone is a building at 10 Middle Road.The company Northeast Patients Group has tagged that a possible spot for a dispensary.The city’s Deputy Development Director says the council has discussed the zone change for the area for a couple of years, well before the idea of a medical marijuana dispensary came up.Board members voted to table the issue until their next meeting.
