Bangor Council Meets About Medical Marijuana Dispensary 

The Bangor City Council will meet Monday night to discuss changes to the city’s ordinance to allow for a medical marijuana dispensary to be put in Bangor. The workshop is in response to the referendum that was approved by Maine voters back in November.The city’s ordinance currently has no provisions in it that would accommodate a medical marijuana dispensary according to City Solicitor Norman Heitmann. “This workshop to discuss the latest draft of the proposed changes with the council and at that time the company that was successful with the state in getting a license for this area will also be present,” says Heitmann.No specific sites have been proposed as of yet. The meeting will focus on what restrictions would have to be put on any proposed site.
