Film Portion Of Festival Hoping To Make a “Bang”

The Kahbang festival is now in full swing here in Bangor. This afternoon the film festival got rolling at Bennet’s Market on Main Street with a panel discussion featuring the directors of two other popular film festivals.Aspiring film makers and folks who organize film festivals got to ask questions and get advice from the speakers. The film screenings are now underway at the Bangor Opera House. The cost for the screenings is $5.00 per person. Organizers are hoping the film portion of the Kahbang festival will soon be as popular as the music. “As a new addition it doesn’t mean it’s less important than what people know Kahbang for which is music,” says Communications Directo Chris Michaud. “We’re trying to build a film festival here that will be something we can have yearly just like the music portion so it’s obviously very important to us at Kahbang.” This year the festival has expanded to nine days with films running through next weekend.
