Cookin’ With Cathy: Cherry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt

1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened1 cup granulated sugar2 cups low fat plain yogurt24 pitted fresh cherries, coarsely chopped1 Tbsp. lemon juice1 tsp. lemon zest


In a large bowl combine cream cheese, sugar and yogurt with a whisk until smooth. Add cherries, lemon juice and lemon zest. Stir until combined. Pour into the bowl of an electric ice cream maker and process for 35 – 45 minutes. Remove prepared yogurt from ice cream maker, put into a container and place in freezer for 1 hour. Serve.
