Broadband Services in Maine get Financial Boost 

Money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be coming to Maine to bring broadband internet service to underserved parts of New England via a Vermont-based company.The Springfield-based Vermont telephone company is getting $116,000,000 in federal grants and loans.The money is part of a $1,200,000,000 package for 126 projects in 38 states that was announced on Wednesday.Maine is getting $9,400,000 from that program.
