One Killed, Another Injured in Plane Crash in Moosehead Lake 

The pilot of a small plane died Sunday morning when his aircraft crashed into Moosehead Lake in the town of Rockwood.According to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, 64-year-old Telford Allen of Rockwood died when he tried to land his plane on the lake and it flipped over.His passenger, 61-year-old Natalie Holmes-Moody, also of Rockwood, was treated at the Greenville Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.The crash happened around 11:30 Sunday morning.Allen is the founder of Telford Aviation Group.The Federal Aviation Administration has been sent to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.Allen’s body has been sent to the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
