Students Host Alex’s Lemonade Stand 

Some Hampden Academy students sold lemonade for a good cause Saturday.To raise money for pediatric cancer research, students ran an Alex’s Lemonade Stand.Mariah Ward and Cecilia Dube were inspired to get involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation after seeing a magazine article on a girl, Alex Scott, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 4. The two teens hope to raise awareness in the community.”We hope to get all the community involved and make them aware about what Alex’s Lemonade Stand is, and how they can get involved too by going to Alex’s,” said Cecilia Dube, a Hampden Academy student.All of the money raised will go to the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation out of Pennsylvania. Ward and Dube say they’d love to make this annual event.
