Detroit Fire 

Several crews responded to a forest fire on the Troy Road in Detroit Saturday afternoon.Detroit Fire Chief, Don Chute says they received the call around 3:30.A small plane was flying over and reported the fire.Chute says when crews arrived on scene about 1 acre of land was on fire and was moving pretty quickly.He says only about 1.25 acres were destroyed.They received mutual aid from Pittsfield and Plymouth.The Newport Fire Department was standing by at the Detroit Fire Station too.Chute says they were only faced with one challenge.” The heat. That’s been probably the number one challenge for the last two weeks. But other than that, the quick response helped and keeping people hydrated.”No one was injured.The fire is under investigation by the Maine Forest Service.
