Vigil for Patient Safety

Nurses at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital are speaking out for patient safety. They have been fighting for provisions to protect patient safety and care to be writing into their contracts. They would like to see there be a minimum set for nurse to patient ratios in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. To bring attention to this issue, they are holding a vigil for patient safety. It starts at 6:45 Thursday evening. It’s being held across the street from Maine Coast memorial hospital, which is at 50 Union Street in Ellsworth.
