Murphy Sentenced to Five Years Behind Bars 

After a two day trial, an Ellsworth man authorities say stole nearly $600,000 from investors was found guilty on all charges.Eric Murphy Junior will spend five years in jail, followed by probation and restitution.A jury found him guilty of two counts of theft by deception, one count of security fraud, and one count of forgery.Murphy originally pleaded guilty back in March as part of a plea deal, but after a judge threw out the plea bargain, saying he would have to spend more than 18-months behind bars, Murphy withdrew his guilty plea, and instead opted for a jury trial.He is currently being held at the Hancock County Jail.
