Tuesday was a beautiful night in Bangor. Many took advantage of the nice weather, and headed out to the 16th annual Old Fashion Block Party in Chapin Park.Local businesses come together and donate food for the event each year: all refreshments were free at the block party.Sam’s Club served up some hot dogs, and the folks from Frank’s Bake Shop kept people cool with their ice cream.Bernadette Gaspar of Frank’s says the block party is really all about coming together as a community. “We have had some great responses. We have all these wonderful businesses who come in and participate. Everybody just pitches in a little bit and it makes for just a great welcome for everybody in the neighborhood.”There was also lots of entertainment at the party. Sweet Adelines delighted the crowd and then the Bangor band took the stage. The Children’s Miracle Network was there. They set up a tent and offered face painting. Over the years C.M.N. has become a cause the block party supports.
