Augusta Planning Board Waits on Medical District Public Hearing

The planning board in Augusta will wait to talk about a zoning change that could allow for a medical marijuana dispensary to open the city. The board tabled a public hearing last night on a proposal to expand the city’s medical district. In that new zone is a building at 10 Middle Road, which Northeast Patients Group has tagged as a possible spot for a dispensary. The city’s deputy development director says the council has discussed the zone change for a couple of years. A hearing on the idea is now scheduled for the board’s next meeting, on August 10th.
