Maine Behind NH and VT in Kid’s Well Being 

Maine continues to lag behind neighboring New Hampshire and Vermont when it comes to children’s well being.The numbers are part of the latest annual survey by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.The report rated New Hampshire as number one and Vermont number three overall. Maine, meanwhile, dropped two places to 14th.Overall, the report says Maine fared better than the national average in seven out of 10 indicators. But there are concerns, including the growing numbers of children living in poverty and in single-parent homes in our state.
