Maine Celebrates Open Farm Day

Dozens of farms across the state opened their gates to give the public a first hand look at farming.Farms in all 16 counties participated in Sunday’s Open Farm Day.This is the 21st year of the event.The Double L Ranch in Corinna participated. There, folks could learn about everything from locally grown products to llamas.” We’ve done this for the last four or five years. We usually have 80 to 100 people come. Part of our mission is to educate folks about natural fiber,” said David Dow, owner of Double L Ranch.Farms across the state offered demonstrations on milking and felting.
