Yard Sale Benefitting Ending Hunger Maine 

Folks headed to Hampden Saturday to shop to end hunger.Maine Savings Federal Credit Unioin hosted its first yard sale.Lots of donations came in for the event from employees, family, friends, and members.One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Maine Credit Union League charity, Ending Hunger Maine.” Hunger is a very big issue right now in this country given the state of the economy and just the way life is. Everybody needs to eat. Poverty is great and I think the percentage in the state of Maine is the upper 30’s for the number of kids that go without food on a regular basis,” said Vanessa Madore, Compliance Manager with Maine Savings Federal Credit Union.Madore says they hope to make the yard sale an annual event.They set a goal of raising $1,000 Saturday.
