Crews from four towns responded to a fire on the Fuller Road in Hermon this afternoon. The call came in around 4:00 after a man working in his yard heard a smoke detector going off and called 911.When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a man inside the building trying to put the fire out. Fire crews got the man out of the building and finished putting the fire out. The man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.Crews from Hermon, Levant, Carmel, and Bangor responded to the call. “Luckily we had a quick response from our mutual aid towns,” says Captain Eric Pelletier of the Hermon Fire Department. “We were able to get a crew inside. Like I said the homeowner kept it in check and we put the rest of the fire out and kept it from spreading and our guys did a great job.”The fire marshall’s office has been called in to determine the cause of the fire.
