Incumbents Pulling More Funding than Challengers 

Federal filings show that incumbent Democrats are outdrawing their Republican challengers in campaign contributions in both of Maine’s U.S. House races.In the 1st district, figures filed with the federal election commission show incumbent Chellie Pingree has raised more than $690,000, compared to $114,000 for G.O.P. challenger Dean Scontras.In the 2nd district, incumbent Mike Michaud reports nearly three quarters of a million dollars raised, while Republican challenger Jason Levesque reports nearly $217,000 in contributions through the end of June, which was the close of the last reporting period. Reports were due Thursday, July 15th.
