Orrington Accident Sends One Man To Hospital 

A two vehicle accident in Orrington sent one man to the hospital this afternoon.Penobscot County Sheriff’s say 38-year-old Aarron Baer of Orrington was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after the accident around 1:30 this afternoon.Police say a white Chevy Avalanche driven by 55-year-old David Hawes of Holden smashed into Baer’s car after Hawes ran a stop sign.The accident happened right in front of Bob’s Kozy Korner Store.Police say it was reported by a bystander who witnessed the accident and ran next door to the fire department. “We came down to find that the pick up truck had sideswiped the car. He states that he didn’t see the stop sign he’s not from this area so that’s pretty much how it happened,” says Orrington Fire Chief Michael Spencer.Penobscot County Sheriff’s say they’re still investigating the accident and will decide later whether or not charges will be filed.
