Local DJ’s Helping Kids Go Back To School 

A group of local radio stations is doing their part to make sure some local kids have everything they need when they head back to school this fall.This morning some local DJ’s from WTOS were broadcasting live from the Dunkin Donuts in Orrington urging listeners to donate school supplies. Everything from notebooks to back packs and even cash is being accepted.The supplies they collect will be distributed by Penquis to some less fortunate families in the area. Katrina Walls is one of the DJ’s donating her voice to the cause. “Recent studies show that the average family with 4 kids spends $550-$600 on school supplies. So anything we can do to help. A lot of families are in need this time of year and this time generally so anything we can do,” says Walls.Kiss 94.5 and the all new Bear are also involved in the project.
