Man and Woman Rescued from Belfast Bay

Two boaters are safe after capsizing in Belfast Bay Saturday night, thanks to the quick response of a local restaurant owner.Just after 7 o’clock Saturday night patrons at Young’s Lobster Pound in Belfast noticed a boat tip over and saw a man and a woman in the water. They alerted Raymond Young, owner of the lobster pound, and he grabbed his boat to go help.”Get them in the boat as fast as you can. So we got the man picked up and the woman floated down with the wind and the currant and we got her in the second time, second way in, so everything went good,” said Raymond Young, owner of Young’s Lobster Pound. The harbor master did arrive on scene, but Young had already gotten the folks out of the water.Neither the harbor master or Young got the names of the two people.Young says this isn’t the first time he’s helped people who have gotten into trouble in the water. He says he’s always happy to help when he can, and that the man and woman were very appreciative.
