Accused Orono Bank Robber Charge in RI Bank Robbery 

The Greyhound bus driver arrested for allegedly robbing the Bangor Saving Bank in Orono earlier this week is now charged with a bank robbery in Rhode Island.Warwick Police said an arrest warrant was issued for 47-year-old Robert Ferguson of Lowell in connection with a robbery at the Pawtucket Credit Union in Warwick on May 27th.Ferguson was caught after police released a surveillance photo, and an employee at the Days Inn on Odlin Road in Bangor recognized him as a Greyhound bus driver who stayed there regularly.Ferguson is also being investigated by the FBI under suspicion that he is the “Burly Bandit” who is believed to be responsible at least ten bank robberies in five states.Ferguson is being held without bail at the Piscataquis County Jail.
