Police are searching for a man they say robbed an Orono bank Tuesday afternoon. They were called to the Bangor Savings Bank on Park Street just after 3 p.m. There were reports of a man inside demanding money, threatening that he had a weapon and would use it if he didn’t get what he wanted.Police say the man never displayed a weapon, but took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money toward Old Town. They tell us he’s between 30 and 40 years old with dark hair, around 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, wearing a grey or blue shirt and blue jeans.Officials say he might be occupying a small U-Haul box truck, and tell us they think their chances of finding him are good.”I think they’re very good. We have good description, great witnesses inside the bank, so we’re very hopeful we’ll be able to find him and make an arrest,” says Capt. Ewing, Orono Police Dept. They say no one inside the bank was hurt.If you have any information, you’re asked to call Orono Police. Their number is 866-4000.
