Brewer Farmers Market

Tents lined the Brewer Auditorium parking lot for a farmers market Saturday. There’s a little something for everyone, with garden produce, herbs, berries, and breads being offered by local vendors. The goods are fresh, local and most are raised naturally.Collaborators of the Stone Soup Collaborative take part in the weekly event. They say the advantage is that it’s a relatively small farmers market, and pretty low key.” You can take the time to talk to the farmers to get to know who grows your food, and ask questions about it. You can learn about new foods, new things you might have been curious about eating,” said Jj Starwalker, a collaborator with the Stone Soup Collaborative.Starwalker says she hopes folks make attending farmers markets a part of their routine, saying eating fresh foods will help make Maine healthier, and support local vendors.
