The Maine International Film Festival Begins in Waterville 

Movie lovers are going to really love Waterville for the next week-and-a-half.Friday is opening day for the Maine International Film Festival.About one hundred films from around the world will be seen on the screens of the Waterville Opera House and the Railroad Square Cinema. Screenwriter Jay Cocks will receive the festival’s lifetime achievement award.He has been nominated for oscars twice. His screenplays include “Gangs of New York,” “The Age of Innocence” and although he didn’t take a screen credit for it, he re-wrote the James Cameron blockbuster “Titanic”.The Maine International Film Festival in Waterville runs through July 18th.
