Radio Personalities Collect ‘Tools for School’
Pens, pencils, notebooks and a lot of other school supplies made their way to a Dunkin’ Donuts in Brewer Tuesday afternoon. Paul and Kat from 104.7 The Bear were at the State Street Dunkin’ Donuts from 11 to 1. It’s part of “Tools for School,” where radio personalities from Blueberry Broadcasting collect donations of school supplies. The items are then distributed through Penquis to students who need them. And they are expecting the need to be high this year.Paul and Kat say even in the first hour Tuesday, they had people of all ages come in to donate.”Well it’s cute, the very first person to bring in some school supplies was a little three-year-old boy. He walked in, just had his arms loaded with stuff, it was really cute,” Paul says. “So I bought him a Coolata!” says Kat.Tuesday was the first of more than a dozen live remotes with several different radio personalities in the coming weeks. Wednesday, Mike and Mike from Kiss 94.5 will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts on the Odlin Road in Bangor from seven to nine in the morning. If you’d like to apply to receive school supplies through Penquis, you can visit Penquis.org.
