Jogger and Driver Injured in Amherst Crash Sunday 

State police are investigating a crash in Amherst Sunday morning that injured a driver and a jogger.It happened around 8:30 a.m. along Route Nine.Authorities say 42-year old Jimmy Nga was jogging along that road when he was struck by a car driven by 29-year old Levi Moores of Bangor.Moores told state police he swerved to avoid a deer.After hitting Nga, Moores’ car went into a ditch, then into the air for 55 feet, before landing on the other side of the road, according to authorities.Moores was taken by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.A state police trooper tells TV 5 that Moores released himself later in the day on Sunday.Nga is still hospitalized at EMMC in fair condition.State police are now awaiting the results of an accident reconstruction.
