Camp for Young Football Players Get Training From the Patriots 

Some young football players in Central Maine got some professional guidance.Players from the New England Patriots were among the instructors at the Central Maine Youth Football Clinic.Prescott Rossi has more.The 14th Central Maine Youth Football Clinic was a rousing success. The non-contact clinic for boys and girls in grades one through eight featured current New England Patriots Buddy Farnham and Eric Alexander.Dustin Powers – Augusta”I’ve liked it because we play a lot of cool games and we get to play with two NFL players.”It’s the third straight year at the clinic for Alexander, an inside linebacker with the Pats.Eric Alexander – New England Patriots”I love working with kids and the Maine kids are so nice, so well mannered, it’s actually fun to come up here and show these guys some skills.”Atlanta Falcons defensive line coach and former Patriots Ray Hamilton is the camp’s instructor and has been involved for all 14 years.Ray Hamilton – Camp Instructor”The real reward is teaching the kids, coming out, interacting with the kids, seeing the kids learn some basic football skills and having fun with the kids and the kids having fun doing it.”One big moment came when Montana Towers of Belgrade intercepted a pass that gave the defense a win before lunch.Montana Towers – Caught Game-Winning Interception”I was guarding somebody and the pass was I think going to him so I just ran in front of him and jumped it and grabbed it and dived and just rolled and got it.”In Waterville, Prescott Rossi, WABI TV5 Sports.
