Blood Drive for Maggie

It’s a chance to save a life, and get free entry into the Bangor State Fair. The Maine Blood Center in Bangor is holding blood drives every Thursday in July in honor of Maggie Rudnicki. She’s a little girl from Levant who has a condition that requires a blood transfusion every few weeks.Anyone who successfully donates blood during Maggie’s Wristband Blood Drives will get a wristband for the Bangor State Fair.Heather Babcock, Donor Recruiter at the Blood Center says it’s an important time to give. Blood supplies always go down in the summer. “It’s extremely important for the entire community, but this is just a nice tribute to Maggie whose family has been touched many, many times. I think Maggie has had her 40th transfusion now, so it’s a way for us to say here it is, and help her out.”The blood drives will be held every Thursday in July at the Blood Center at 992 Union Street in Bangor. You need to make an appointment to donate blood, call them at 262-8797.
