Some local vendors are setting up shop this summer for a new farmers market in Hermon. The market is being held in the parking lot of Greencare Plantscapes on Rt. 2 in Hermon. There are six vendors taking part, and they’re selling everything from cheeses and locally grown produce to fresh baked breads.Mary Lou Hoskins, the owner of Greencare and the person responsible for starting the farmers market, says this is a great opportunity for the community. “I think it’s really important to support local agriculture for one thing. Fresh food, local food, it’s better for you, and it tastes better. What’s more important than that?”The farmers market will be open from 2:00pm to 6:00pm every Thursday from now through the end of October.
