Daniel Fortune to be sentenced Thursday for Role in Machete Attack 

A man from Augusta convicted of attacking a family in Pittson with a machete will be sentenced Thursday. 22 year old Daniel Fortune was found guilty last month for his role in the attack on William Guerrette Junior and his daughter Nicole.The jury convicted him on four aggravated attempted murder counts, and each of them carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.District Attorney Evert Fowle tells TV5 that the state will ask for that maximum sentence.And if that is granted there will be no chance of parole for fortune.Fortune’s lawyer is asking for 25 years in prison and six years probation.The other person involved, Leo Hylton, pleaded guilty and is serving a 50 year prison sentence for his role in the attacks.Hylton and Fortune were foster brothers.
