The Class B baseball final from Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. The Waterville Panthers against the Cape Elizabeth Capers in a battle between the #1 seed from the East against the #1 seed from the West.The Capers get on the board first. Top third, Cameron Brown ropes one to left. The ball gets bobbled. Sam St Germain running all the way. Scores easily. Capers grab three in the third.But the Panthers come roaring back. Bottom third, Tim Locke crushes this offering over the left field fence. Two home runs for Locke today. He’s only a junior. Waterville grab five runs in the third and four runs in the fourth.On the mound for the Panthers. Josh Gaudette gets the final five outs, including this pop up to Mark Beckim for the last out of the game. After the catch, Beckim runs to hug Locke. Waterville are the Class B state champs. They win 9-5 over Cape Elizabeth.
